United Nations Barbados and Eastern Caribbean 2024 Annual Results Report

The UN Barbados and Eastern Caribbean 2024 Annual Results Report highlights the collective work and impact of the United Nations Sub-Regional Team in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, achieved in partnership with Governments, civil society, and development partners.
While 2024 was a challenging year, with the impact of Hurricane Beryl, it enhanced collaboration, innovation and partnerships, showcasing the importance of delivering as one, and the resilience of the Governments and people of this beautiful region.
Together we sought to advance progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while keeping the needs of those most at risk of being left behind at the forefront of our efforts. In a year characterized by various shocks, the 2024 report provides a snapshot of our key achievements in support of Governments’ national priorities and sustainable development. While progress has been made, there is still work to be done. We look forward to enhanced partnerships to continue our support to the Caribbean region.
"As we look to the future, we do so with hope and continued belief in the value of multilateralism to secure a sustainable future for all. As we move forward, we must continue to harness collective will, innovation, and partnerships to bridge gaps in financing for development, scale up climate action, education, healthcare, gender equality, and social protection." - UN Resident Coordinator, Mr. Simon Springett
