UN Caribbean Hosts Kick-off Workshop to discuss New Cooperation Framework
26 February 2021
- Representatives from the UN Development System, Government partners and regional stakeholders met today for talks on the way forward for design of the new UN Multi-country Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (MSDF) for the Caribbean.
The kick-off workshop sought to acquaint participants with the MDSF 2.0 roadmap, strengthen capacities for strategic programming and promote a common understanding of the new joint programming mechanism aimed at accelerating progress on the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The first MSDF captured development aspirations and placed people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnerships at its core. MSDF 2.0 will build on this foundation, using a more strategic approach grounded in the theory of change framework.
A series of high-level national and regional consultations and events planned for the rest of this year, will further inform the development of MSDF 2.0. The new five-year cooperation strategy will guide the UN’s work in the Caribbean for 2022 to 2026.
